The 'APICS Principles of Operations Management' program is the training proposal of APICS for manufacturing companies interested in strengthening their knowledge base in the field of Production and Supply Chain planning and control.

Addressed to a wide audience in a company's workforce, the program was designed by APICS specialists to provide participants with the skills to contribute effectively to the work of Supply Chain and Operations teams.

The didactic contents are part of APICS's body of knowledge, an internationally recognized standard for over 50 years. For this reason, companies choose the 'Principles' program in order to train:

  • middle management in Operations areas

  • high potential talents

The program consists of five thematic courses:

  • Principles of Inventory Management
  • Principles of Operations Planning
  • Principles of Manufacturing Planning
  • Principles of Logistics and Distribution
  • Principles of Managing Operations

A distinctive feature of the courses is their modularity and flexibility. Each course consists of a total of 33 hours of training, structured over 11 individual sessions of three hours each, with possible customizations in terms of format, length, scope and detail according to the specific training objectives of the company.

It is also possible to create transversal training paths across individual courses, thus combining thematic areas relevant for mixed teams or those that require cross-functional expertise.

The training consists of classroom exercises, intermediate tests and a final test. At the end of each course, standard or customized, JPS issues each participant with a certificate of participation in the course relating to the APICS Principles of Operations Management program.

APICS Principles of Inventory Management – 33 hours

Due to the impact that stock may have on the competitiveness, profitability and sustainability of a company, this course has been designed with the goal to develop skills relating to field of inventory management, in order to facilitate the guidance and control of processes and the operational execution of activities.

APICS Principles of Operations Planning – 33 hours

The course helps to build a working knowledge and full understanding of the fundamentals of the productive resource planning In particular, it examines theoretical principles, strategic and tactical aspects and techniques and methods used at the various levels of the materials, labour and machinery planning model.

APICS Principles of Manufacturing Management – 33 hours

The course is aimed at the development of expertise relating to the guidance and control of production activities, to facilitate effective management of planning, scheduling and control.

  • Bills of Materials and Manufacturing cycles
  • Material Requirements Planning (MRP)
  • Capacity Requirements Planning
  • Advanced Scheduling
  • Factory Activity Control

APICS Principles of Logistics and Distribution – 33 ore

The course focuses on distribution logistics aspects, with a look at the supply chain downstream of production. In particular, it addresses all the issues concerning distribution network design, inventory planning, warehouse positioning and size optimization and transport rationalization.

APICS Principles of Managing Operations – 33 ore

The aim of the course is to provide the fundamentals needed for the design, development and implementation of entire production systems or service organizations. With a more strategic perspective, the course addresses:

  • Operations Management

  • Process Design Strategies
  • Total Quality Management
  • Process Statistical Control
  • Process Improvement
  • Performance Management
WHERE

JPS offers public courses for limited numbers in major Italian cities and private in-house courses in venues and dates agreed with the client.
